NO. God, no, I don't think they should legalize marijuana. I'm old school. And to me, what's wrong is wrong. As a country we have to have some boundaries. If we legalize marijuana, what's next? Making crack and crystal meth legal? Just because a lot of people do it for fun doesn't mean it should be legal. Oh, hey, I like to kill people for fun. Can we make that legal so I can murder people guilt free? Slowly and surely, we're going to have no rules at all, if we keep making things like marijuana legal.

I, like Jill, believed the grown ups when they said drugs are bad. I'm glad I made that choice.
I don't care if the system is already set up for legalization. I don't care if it would give the government more money from the taxes charged on it or any other positive aspect. I think it's wrong to make that legal.

Marijuana is NOT a gateway drug.
I have been smoking weed for 6 years and although have tried other drugs, have not gotten into them.
People don't just smoke weed for fun, they smoke it to help them.
Marijuana alters your behaviors? Not in a negative way IMO, not in a violent or harmful way like alcohol can. I've never seen someone get baked and then go looking for fights.
If the entire country is doing it all the time, the entire country will pay fines (as it would likely be decriminalized, not legal.)
My argument is that marijuana would be a way better choice to market and distribute than alcohol or cigarettes, so why make it completely illegal?
Jana I don't know if you like to drink or not but I don't understand how people are fine with people getting so drunk they have to have their stomachs pumped, but it's wrong for someone to get high and sit there and relax.
If people use weed just to get messed up then,yes, it can eventually lead to a problem, but a lot of marijuana users I know use it to relax and a lot of other people actually use it to ease pain. Why have alcohol and cigarettes legal when they kill thousands of people each year, but have weed illegal when it has never caused a fatality?
I love how everyone makes this about alcohol. Perhaps alcohol is worse, but thats not the question. The question is about marijuana. Alcohol is legal, always will be, so lets stop using distraction methods saying this is worse thats worse etc.

It's not so much that we want alcohol thrown out. We want to be free to relax/ease pain/get fucked up when neccesarry in a way that will kill us much slower than constant alcohol or cigarette use, in my opinion.
